Pereiras Dam in Ourique, Portugal. The dam, that holds a 3 year water suply for local farmers, was empty through the summer due to the serious drought. 2005 was the most dry of the last 75 years in Portugal. 22/06/2005

I love the blue of the sky against the dry brown of the dirt, it makes for a nice contrast. A great photograph showing how unpredictable Earth is :)

I remember... both 2005 and 2006 were really terrible on the whole Iberian peninsula (Portugal and Spain), on the latter year this massive Saharan dust cloud blew into the west of Europe right on summer season. It was very displeasing...
